The Cartoon, Croydon

Doors Open: 7pm

Band on at: Sometime after 7pm

Price: £3 With Flyer

Mere days after the Amersham gig... we've got another one! This one is at the Cartoon in Croydon. I know it's mid-week, but come along anyway! It's not like you've got anything better to do on a Tuesday! Click here for a flyer.
We'll be playing with Southern Souls and White Elephant. I dunno what either are like, but I've heard good things!

Times: Please note that these are approximate times which have been known to change and/or be wrong!

Flyers: Most venues count the flyers they receive at the door, and they use this as the basis for whether we get booked again! Thanks for your support!

The Band's Review:

In the car on the way to Croydon, Fi was pointing out all the nice areas and lovely houses. She got quieter on that score the nearer we got to the venue. Make no mistake, the bit of Croydon in which the Cartoon club is situated is horrid. So, a huge thanks to everyone who turned out to the ruff end of town on a school night.

The club itself is a bit nicer inside than out, but it is possibly not the most happening place in London on a hot Tuesday night. No matter, we got our heads down and played as hard as we could.

We had to extend the setlist to include basically everything, because one of the bands we invited up to support had to pull out due to unforseen drummer exit problems. White Elephant, from Brighton, did show up, but could not extend their set because (I shit you not) they hadn't programmed their drum machine with any more material!
Well, we duly programmed Funder up, and played sweatily for well over an hour. For the most part we played really well. Moron Magnet in particular was storming, and Stevie (which we thought we couldn't pull off!). Then we played the Ace of Spades for a laff, and it fell laughably apart. Lemmy would have been proud (if we'd have been drunk)!

Dodgy on stage sound, and a less-than-rammed venue didn't dampen our spirits, and we managed to satisfy at least a few people. And that is, I guess, what it's all about.

Pix are up in the gallery.

Hugs & Beers,
