The Band's Review:
The DC was the best gig of the year last year, so we were very chuffed to be coming back.
It was a cool night, and another great lonelyband set. The last few gigs have all been very good, and we're pleased to be getting some consistency going! It was a very hot gig, and a pretty fat-free & intense set. Funder was especially pleased with the performance.
We haven't played Lumps for ages, so it was very cool to play that again, and the new material really seems to be coming together. We might have to start thinking about album #3 before long!
We got rid of several of the new promo CDs, and signed up some newbies to our VIP list... welcome!
The other bands were cool too. In Faded Glory- a pretty heavy band from France- were very entertaining, and Black Lines did a nice line in Radioheadish prog. I liked it.

Morals:
If dark, hot and slightly sweaty places are your thing (and let's face it, who doesn't like those!) the DC is as good a place as any to have a gig, and there was a fair crowd gathered to view the bands, even on a school night.
The lb set was one of the best I've seen in a while, nice and heavy from the offset. Tarik in particular seemed to be enjoying himself, although I'm sure Funder was too (I couldn't really see him as there was a sweaty man with a beard and a guitar in the way).
The new material seemed to go down well, although Gavs squeaky violin-esque guitar playing (the sound, he didn't play with a bow) did cut through Chris' vocals somewhat, but generally sounded pretty cool.
If rating the show out of ten I'd have to give it Purple. Top show!
Things we want:
More sets like that
A promo CD (I forgot to grab one)
More gimps working in Burger King who give me two whoppers and two lots of fries for the price of one
Things we don't want:
Beer costing £3 a pint
Tuesday mornings
