The Band's Review:

Right, we've done 3 now!

The gig on Saturday was back at the Amersham Arms- a last minute job after another band dropped out. I guess we must have impressed someone the first time around (either that or we looked like we were desperate for gigs!).

This one was a bit different, because it was a "Battle of the Bands". The running order was decided by pulling names out of a hat, and we got the dubious honour of kicking things off. The gig was good, we played pretty well and Dan debuted his new "Cousin it and Pink tie" ensemble, which was truly entertaining to all and sundry! We played basically the same set as the the last time we played there, only this time we swapped Role Model for Bad Guy. There's now only one song from the record that we haven't played live yet... can you guess which one??? First one to e-mail me gets a pint...

One thing I must say, though, is that I don't really like the "Battle..." concept.
I have played them before, but they were always all-day affairs with lots of bands, and under those circumstances, the vibe has always been really cool. However, I wasn't too keen on the idea of a "Battle" when there are only 3 bands, as I felt that some of the punters were a bit reserved when watching bands other than the one they had specifically come to see. Respect is due, therefore, to the peeps who came to see us, not only for giving us much needed support, but for getting into the other bands as well- that's what it's all about!

The other bands by the way, Deep Roller and Filtered, were both really bloody good, and seemed to be really cool guys.

So, who won then???

It wasn't us! Well, it kinda was...
We tied with Filtered for first place, so they tossed a coin (And we lost! D'oh!)

Oh well- music isn't a competition anyway (regardless of what those wankers on Poop Stars, The Rivals say).

Hugs & Beers,
CSD

PS: I sent off the master discs to the reproduction company today. Looks like Farrago might be making an appearance soon...
